Stuck in Munich

Since climbing up Mont Blanc 17 days earlier, I hadn't managed to tick a single peak off the list. I was becoming increasingly frustrated and concerned about my lack of progress.

Part of this absence had been planned into my schedule. For four days, I was back in the UK with family commitments, then an additional four days at a friend's wedding in Ireland that I attended. Of course, while I was there, I felt the need to head up and climb Slieve Donard for a second time on this trip.

The remaining absence was not planned. We had flown from Dublin to Munich, where our road-trip vehicle had been parked while we had all been away. New tires were a must. We had done over 15,000 km on this journey alone. However, fitting the tyres found problems with our suspension. So, in a nutshell, it meant that we were stuck in Munich for five days. It had been the longest I had been stationary for over four months.

Rest of the story to follow soon...
