About me

Hi, my name is Adam Stevenson. I am from the city of Chester in the U.K and have worked within the construction industry for the majority of my working life - pricing up and managing jobs. My background carries no relevant experience to what I have got myself involved with for this challenge. I've created this site to share with you my experiences and to invite you to follow my journey as I go from the casual hiker to reaching the highest peak of every European country and attempting a Guinness World Record in the process.

About the challenge

The task is simple - to get to the highest natural point of every country in Europe.

The idea came from a close friend that simply wanted to visit all the countries of Europe. From that evolved a challenge of reaching the high point as just something fun to do while we would be in each country.

However, defining a list of peaks required wasn't as straight forward as I initially anticipated. Within the geographical contexts of Europe, there are border disputes, high point disputes and the technicalities of where the high point of the country is located away from mainland Europe in an overseas territory. This is the case for Denmark, Spain, and Portugal. Other questions arose from trans-continental countries such as Turkey and states that aren't officially acknowledged by the UN like Kosovo.

After looking into each and everyone I have come up with my main list of peaks that I will be doing.  This is not an exhaustive list as there may be additional peaks that I may end up doing for fun or simply wanting to explore a new area. These will be listed under the Bonus Peaks section.
