I had no plans for this right up until I did it. We had been staying in the historic town of Kotor. From inside the walls, this one mountain just dominates the skyline. We planned to do the standard tourist thing and go look at the ruins of a monastery 250 m above the town. But then when I got there, I decided that the higher peak was too tempting for me to miss. I carried on up in some pumps with no socks and a backpack of useless items for another three hours to get there. Luckily I passed a restaurant on the way for a quick omelet and more water. But the views made it worth it - they were just incredible.
